Treo 750 - Business Persons Most Valuable Tool
Pros
Quick & Responsive, Touchscreen, Windows Mobile, Data Tethering
Cons
Charging Port Dies after a while. Cost is on the more expensive side.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this to anyone who needs a PDA/Phone that includes a touchscreen as well as somewhat snappy responsiveness. Theres lots of compatible applications as well.
The Treo 750, what can I say, its a great phone. I had a treo 650 first, then went to the 750. Ive had nothing but good things to say about the Treo phones. Theres only 1 thing Ive found dissapointing so far.. we will get to that later..
Pros
So on the plus side, the Treo 750 runs windows mobile. It has a touch screen which makes using windows mobile a breeze. While it does have a touchscreen, it still has a full keyboard and dialpad to make calls. Some of the newer phones like the iphone, have no keyboard, or like the tilt, wizard, ect.. have a slide out keyboard which makes it a little more of a hassle to type or dial on the fly.
Speed of the OS is pretty reasonable, there is a little bit of lag on some applications, but nothing unreasonable. I have sync'd my Treo with my desktop and laptop via the usb cable, as well as via bluetooth.
I have also successfully shared internet access from my laptop to the phone, as well as 3g data from the phone to the laptop. Speeds compared to other tethered phones were a bit slower than some, but not very much slower. Fast enough you will forget your on a cellular internet connection.
Cons
On the downside of this phone, the charger ports on these phones tend to get worn out. Chargers no longer stay tight, and its not the charger, its the port, so buying more charger wont fix the problem. Once this happens the phone will only charge using the USB cable attachment. So far this is the only downside Ive found, in my case this happened on 2 phones, about 1 1/2 years after I used each one, and seems to be a common thing with the Treo series.
