Treo Pro - Great for work and play

Pros Feel, ease of use, function, applications, durability, expandability. wifi, 3.5mm headphone jack
Cons Battery life is not impressive. Have to charge alot.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Although more business oriented, it is a great all around smart phone.  With all the features, it is hard to live without it.
I received this phone through were I work as my new corporate phone.  I've put it through its paces now for about a month, and here is what I have.

I am a service technician on big equipment.  I travel alot, and need a good smart phone that allows me to stay connected through my corporate email, as well as allow me to connect my laptop to the internet to do such tasks as send automation programming files.

That is where the Palm Treo Pro comes in.

Upon receiving the phone, I noticed how substancial it feels.  It does not feel flimsy, but like a real piece of equipment.  Even the included USB charger is amazing.  Touch screen input is very accurate.  Web sites are very easy to view on the screen.  Connectivity is easy to setup, and within minutes, I was running the phone comfortably.  It is a very user intuitive interface.

Email and messaging are very easy to use.  Text messaging comes up as a threaded application, so it closely resembles chatting on something like AOL instant messager, rather than texting on a normal phone.

The keypad, while small and cramped, has a good feel.  Although it will take you a little while to get used to it, but once you do, you can type rather quickly.

The Treo Pro has a built in GPS program with traffic updates.  It works really well, and is extremely handy if you don't have a stand alone GPS.  The speaker is not really loud though, and may be hard to hear in some vehicles.

The contact list is very easy to use and organize.  You can easily set up work and home email through it.  Pop3 email operates flawlessly on it.  Direct push email (Immediate email, akin to a Blackberry) uses alot of battery life, but keeps you in touch with no delay.

It supports WiFi and Bluetooth, and it does it very well.  Infared port on the side, a 3.5mm headphone jack (To allow you to use NORMAL headphone with it!), and a memory card slot round out the package.

WiFi is easily turned on and off through the dedicated button on the side.   On the top is an extremely handy slide switch that silences the audio, and turns on vibrate (For quick meetings).

Then after work, you can use the handy messaging services, internet browsing, and even watch YouTube videos.

Cell quality is top of the line also.  Reception is excellent, as well as audio on both ends.  Due to the small keys, I have difficulity dialing without looking though.

All in all, it is a very durable, extremely handy, quite attractive, and extremely fun phone.  Palm really did their homework with this Palm Treo Pro, and it shows.  I really enjoy it.  It is a handy companion to have at your side, when workin' hard, or hardly workin'.
