I bought this system after my previous JVC MX-GT700 (which had superb sound)systems reciever failed. I think that Panasonic was trying to find a way for the bass to be less damaging to your ears, therefore they put the subwoofer air outlet in the back of the speaker. Now, this might be good in some cases, but when you live in a condo, bass slamming on neighboring walls doesn't go off so good with neighbors.
Currently, I have the subwoofers from the JVC's speakers hooked to the panasonics reciever. And I have the Panasonic speakers tweeter and super tweeter hooked up. That seems to be working better than either systems alone.
P.S. Im trying to get my hands on to some cheap Philips FWM779 speakers. Got any leeds?
