Pros sound quality is awesome even with small speakers
Cons doesnt like mp3 mixed with data cd's *read my update*
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Great features, uncomparable price, a remote :D, shdb, and excellent playback of mp3's
Well, I just got this cd player today, but then again, I am always one that wants to master his electronics asap. Right now the only thing I have left to do is set the clock :P Lets tackle my system setup since I dont want to say oh man its awesome when Im a bass person, which Im not. I'm more of a clarity person. I have two Pioneer front speakers, they measure four inchs, 20 watts nominal, 100 watts max. Not too bad, wal mart cheapies :P, I have then 2 stock 4x10 speakers in the back of my 1991 S-10. So now that you know what IM pushing power to I will tell you how it sounds and whats the pros and cons of it. Ill spare you the specs of what it has and let you read up on the product specs page but ILL tell you that the bass and treble controls work awesome. You push the dial down for bass treble front/back and left/right controls. Easy enough to get to and adjustable by the remote. The super high definition bass adds quite a bit of thump and acoustics to the woofers. The tight setting is good for rock music and the boom adds a bit on top of the tight setting for R&B and rap beats. Mp3 discs play well, I havent tried WMA yet since I feel no need to convert my mp3's to wma and try it out. I have played mp3's from 64-320 kb/s and they all sound great. Radio reception is ok but I have a feeling my cable is a bit loose, but before I hooked it up the second time I had it fully connected and it sounded ok. DOnt get caught up in ALPHATUNER 5 or whatevere it is, its just a good am/fm receiver, nothing fantastic but its not bad by any means. Its just an fm/am tuner, then gain, how good can fm/am get anymore since everything is going the way of xm/sirius. Speaking of, I havent tried the Sirius tuner yet as I again feel no need to dish out $150+ for a tuner and satellite and then pay a monthly fee. No thanks, Ill wait till prices drop and the technology gets better and cheaper to build. The power this thing puts out is great. I havent an amp but I may soon get one as I may purchase a set of MTX truck boxes. The built in tuner pushes out 50 watts per channel, which in most cases, is more than an oem speaker can handle. *UPDATE LOOK BELOW* Today I have tested everything from Joe Satriani to Cypress Hill to Norah Jones to Linkin Park, and all with a few adjustements of bass and treble sound fantastic. I would think, for the money minded customer wishing to get this, unless you have a few good factory speakers that can take it, and depending on your car, a small set of 4-6 /12 inch speakers in front, and 6x9's in the back along with a small 8-10 inch sub with a small amp would give excellent clarity and response. This head unit is a great buy and if you can find it for around $200 or below then you have yourself a deal. Great head unit, glows red and blue on the face at night, remote works great if you work with it for 5 minutes while parked. I do reccomend learning how to work it while parked and not driving. *UPDATED LOOK BELOW* Overall, outstanding.

UPDATE!
.Wav files play perfect as I have tried a cd loaded with ambience tunes. Now also I have further tested the Mp3 + data cd concern I had and it seems that if there are mediocre scratches on a mixed media cd then it doesnt like it. What is however very helpful is that it will display a different error code based on what the problem is. This is not a direct quote but for example. E1 Disc Eject means the cd has scratches on it but D2 disc eject means that the cd's format cannot be read. This really helps out in terms of feeling out problems and working around them with mixed media cd's. Also my stock 4x10's have gotten the woofer's thrown out a little. It is important to remember they were paper woofers and not meant to handle 50 watts on a thrust outwards so I'm not very surprised by this for it's not the players fault. Having said this I would not change the marks I gave it one bit. It's stood up to my expectations of being an agressive and very pure sounding cd player. Lots of power, good clarity, great features, Remote for lazy bums like me, and I still have things to test :) Ex: Ogg Vorbis media, etc etc
