Almost Perfect

Pros Cool looking, plenty of base power, remote control
Cons Heats up a lot, causing condensation and skipping
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you want looks, get this. If you want a really really good deck, get this. If you want the absolute best you can buy, look somewhere else.
I bought this deck in September 2000 for my car. It was the first step in creating the sound system that I have now. I hadn't heard anything previously about the deck, but I knew and trusted the Panasonic name, so I decided to get it.

First I must say, I was excited when I drove my car home from Circuit City that day. Not only did it look cool, sound good, and play easily, I found out it had a wireless remote included with it! Of course, I never use the remote, but it's still cool to have.

The CD player is great. Crisp and clean, easy to use. However I have found that if I leave my car outside overnight, water condenses inside and on the CD, which makes it very succeptable to skipping. It's easy just to take the CD out and wipe it off, but it gets annoying after a while.

The radio tuner is pretty good, I can usually get excellent reception, but sometimes it's a bit fuzzy. I think this may not be Panasonic's fault, more likely my antennae.

Along with the ease of use and good sound quality, it has the necessary hardware to expand - dual preouts for amps or whatever else you may need, a 45x4 watt setup, backlit display, and tons of on-deck controls, like subwoofer volume, bass volume, treble, etc.

I would highly recommend this deck, but it is not perfect.
