The Bottom Line:
A great receiver for anything.
The 801 is a power house of a receiver. The output from its MOSFET 60 amp chip is great. The RMS is 27 watts. The display of the unit is a 3D one with the ability to change many of the features such as the screen shown and other options becoming common on the newer high-end receivers. There is also a nice spectrum analyzer to show off your power. The preouts also help the 801 to shine. 5 volts help this unit to be one of the cleanest output signals to amps around. Another really cool feature of the 801 is the "day/night" face plate. In the day the face plate is a matted sliverish color but at night the back light makes it an aqua-blue color that is awesome when its dark out. It can really make friends jealous. The only down side of the model is the CD-noise ratio of 96 dB. But at this point its not too big of a deal. Overall a great receiver.
