aesthetically pleasing and plays cds great
I'd like to start out by saying that I drive a '87 Honda Civic and, since that isn't exactly a good car, I thought it would be a good idea to put in the best system I could. Right after my parents bought it for me, I bought a Kenwood cd player. It could hardly play CDRs and it slowly broke down over the course of 6 months. After that thing died, I decided to get a really good cd player, that's when I found the CQ-DFX301U.
The installation on this unit was a lot easier than I thought it would be, probably because I bought it from crutchfield.com and they gave me all the parts and instructions. It took me about 45 mins. to install it. This surprised me because the last one I bought I had installed for me and that took them over an hour and they charged me $50.
After I installed it, I noticed the player has some nice features as well, it has a removable face plate for added security, a remote (that seemed to be useless, until I actually used it), changeable displays, inner blue lights that make it glow at night, adjustable bass, treble, and a fader, and cd-rw playability. I'm not sure how durable it is because I just bought it, but it seems sturdy. It also handles CDs that have lots scratches.
As for the radio reception, the FM is great with my car antenna hooked up and it has 6 adjustable presets. The player doesn't have any satellite radio attachments on it, but I don't think that matters because only a few of the satellite stations interest me in any way.
The unit also has 2 pre-outs in the back just for subs, that came in handy for hooking them up, and subwoofer controls. It also has 4 45w channels so you can really get great sound out of it.
