The Bottom Line:
Excellent alternative to other MP3 players at a competitive price. Consider it.
The Panasonic head unit is very nice. It sounds excellent, has usable controls on the unit & remote, looks nice day & night, plays the mp3 discs I've put in, and even has the CD text feature. I was particularly impressed that the unit has the ability to scroll the filename, up to the size of the filesystem. This works great for those like me who put the artist, track number, and track name in the filename. Unfortunately, I wish it had a continuous scroll function; it will scroll once, then just shows the first few characters of the filename afterward. I'm not much for features that change the acoustics, but their "Super High Definition Bass" feature works like a good loudness function at lower volumes, bringing out some additional bass features in the music. It's a nice looking unit, with the flipdown faceplate, the aluminum look, and a large display. The display is nice day & night, but I wish it had a dim feature; it overpowers the cabin at night. I'm impressed with the ability to avoid skipping; I live on some very rough roads, and haven't experienced a skip from the unit. Thus far, I'm happy with it. It's a great value, sounds great, and has a load of features.
