Looks great at night, sounds great all the time!
Pros
MP3, Color Scheme, Pause Button, Complete Touch Screen Interface
Cons
Horrible glare in the daytime, drop down faceplate gets stuck
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this stereo to anyone who wants something a little different than all the other stereo's out there.
I had this unit installed at the same time as an amp and sub from a reputable company. They had it on display in a dim room, so it looked great and i fell in love right away, I mean, come on, it is ALL touch screen operated. I even picked up my car after it was installed...at night, so I was extremely happy. The next morning, I hated it. The glare was horrible, even at it's brightest setting, you can't see the screen. I survive through the days because I have all the button's memorized. Another thing I don't like about it is you push the button to drop the face down.....and it doesn't drop. You have to push the button, while grabbing the side and pulling it down manually. After having it for 2 months, I've coped with it's faults, and have moved on to just enjoy the cool features about it.
The animations are great, Except, they are like 15 seconds long, and loop over and over, and get boring really quick. I keep it on the animation of the EQ which sorta moves to the music. The changing colors is cool, it rotates through all the colors, or you can set it at ANY color you desire, via a RGB color mixer. You can make the buttons disappear, and reappear by tapping the screen, so the animation isn't blocked. If you're playing an MP3 CD, the is the only way you can see the Artist and Song info is by making the buttons go away, because they cover the lines of text, which is kind of a pain, when you have to have the buttons up to scan the CD, and you want to know what song it is.
You can make basic audio adjustments, and a few more advanced adjustments. It gives you a lot of bass options. I haven't played with the satellite tuner because I don't have the money to subscribe. FM tuning is a little time consuming, the scan button is kind of complicated and hard to get used to. I really like how it has a pause button for the CD player, my stock stereo didn't, and It's so handy.
All in all this is a great unit, with the only downfall being the horrible glare you get in the daytime.
