The Bottom Line:
It is an excellent tv because the picture quality is so fabulous. The picture is crisp and superior to many in its category.
I have been researching tvs for about 3 years--yup---I wanted a really good tv to replace a 19" tv that I bought 17 years ago.
I was all ready to buy the Panasonic Tau and fork out about $549 because of the flat screen.
However, I saw this model Panasonic in Best Buy (for $299) and was blown away by the picture quality. The Tv is the closest you can get to a flat tv without it being flat. I found it to be much sharper in picture quality than the flat tvs. The picture is awesome!!!
The remote is easy to work and it is great that the closed caption comes on when I mute the TV and am on the phone!
This tv is absolutely marvelous.
The surround sound is adequate but it will not knock your socks off!
Again, though, who buys a tv just for sound? Really the sound is very good but not as awesome as other sets.
The picture here is amazing. The price cannot be beat.
If you want a great looking set that seems flat---and want a marvelous picture...definately buy this tv. You will not be sorry.
I love it and have had it for a month. As of this updated review writing, I have had the TV now for about 1.3 years...The TV is remarkable...no problems with it, the picture is superb. And now, as I update this review, April '04, I say that this is just a superb tv- no problems and stupendous picture quality! I don't have a dvd but the movies run on cable or on regular tv are super...the quality is very good. And, at this price, you cannot go wrong!
