Great buy for the money
Pros
Great picture!
Cons
Universal remote is 'clunky' to use
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
TV accommodates DVD, Surround Sound, Cable/Satellite and VCR hookup w/one remote. Sound control feature is great. The picture is photogenic quality. A good investment.
Spent a day researching features for 27" TV's in the $250-300 range. We were sick of getting our ears blasted during commercials while watching our Sanyo 25" MTS TV (not it's fault - it's a great tv too).
1. The noise level control feature is 'music' to my ears. Combined with our DVD player the quality of the music we hear surpasses our expectations since we don't have a home theater set-up. The stereo on our Sanyo TV is richer, offering more range in tone, but what I'm hearing from the Panasonic is clear, decent and adequate. No buzz or interference.
2. The picture, as I'd read in other reviews, is awesome. There's more depth and dimension to the images on the screen than our older Sanyo.
3. The setup took 15 minutes and wasn't complicated, despite not having a code listed in the manual for our satellite unit. The procedures in the manual, although appearing an 'easy' read, could have more clarity. We relied on past experience and 'hunches' to get through the remote setup.
4. The universal remote sent with the TV is not as user friendly as the one for our Hughes Satellite unit, which required minimal key strokes to activate any feature.
It's been months now and we've not had an problems with this television. We bought the TV from Amazon.com. Shipping took 7 days and arrived on the expected delivery date at the specified time.
