INTRO
Ahhh! The Television! What would Mankind do without those boxes of magic?? Who knows! But nowadays televisions are now cheap enough for almost everyone to afford! We needed a good television for not a whole lot of money and we found that TV in the Panasonic CT-27D12D 27'' TV! Good Brand Name and quite cheap at only $249!
THE TELEVISION
Actually $249 was more than we wanted to pay for a television, but spending a little bit more, you can get the reliability of a big manufacturer.
Probably like a lot of people, when i buy a television i see it as quite a big investment! I want it to last a few years and not have any problems with it! Panasonic electronics i have owned in the past has always been really reliable, and i have always been extremely happy with their products and this TV is no exception to that.
The television has got a whole of features! Most Noticeable the Glare Reduction Tube! One thing that really gets on everyone's nerves is light bouncing on the television and blocking your favorite show! Well With the Glare Reduction Tube this is combated to a certain extent. It does not completely block out glare like a flat screen television would do but you do still get some of the glare blocked out, much more so than a regular television tube. The television is very easy to set up. It really is as simple as plugging it in and pressing the OK button on the remote. All of the Channels are found and are stored automatically! The Picture quality really surprised me! The picture is of a very high quality! The colors are very vivid, and are extremely crisp and sharp, which enhances your viewing pleasure!
THE CONNECTIONS
This Television has connections for just about everything! There is a Component video input for the best-possible connection to a DVD player, 3 sets of A/V inputs (1 front, 2 rear) so you can connect the television up to a stereo or a Dolby receiver/home cinema system, 1 S-video input, and a Stereo headphone jack. All of the connections are very easy to access, which makes your life that much easier!
THE SOUND
The sound quality that this television puts out is actually pretty good! I have always been skeptical about virtual surround sound using just the 2 television speakers, but the Panasonic TV pulls this off pretty well. Usually sound from simulated surround sound, sound pretty tinny, but when you put the television, into surround mode, after a while getting used to it, it does actually sound like a surround sound TV.
Another great feature with the sound is that it has Artificial Intelligence Sound Control! What is more annoying than volume levels changing between the program you are watching and the commercials? Well this feature maintains consistent audio levels during commercials or when channel surfing, so you will not have to have a finger over the volume control all the time! Very nice!!
THE REMOTE
The remote control is very easy to use and navigate around. the remote control is a universal remote and it is also back lighted so you can see what you are doing in the dark, which is really handy! The remote is very easy to program to all of your existing hardware! VCR, Cable, or another TV. In the Instruction manual there are a series of codes listed for all brands of electronics. All you have to do is find the brand of your appliance, press the corresponding button, either, TV, Cable or VCR then just tap in the code and then you are ready to go! As simple as that!
OTHER FEATURES
There is a very good On screen display on this television and it can be displayed in 3 languages: English, French and Spanish! Which comes in very handy. The menus are very easy to navigate and everything is displayed nice and Cleary. it is from here that you tune the television, set the brightness and contrast and all of the other features like that.
It has a V-Chip so you can block any programs that you do not want your kids to be watching For Instance, you can set your TV so that it will not allow R Rated programs to be watched, which gives great peace of mind, especially if you are a parent! it also has a sleep/alarm timer, so if you think you will fall asleep in front of the TV (like i always do) you can set a timer! You can set the timer from 90 minutes down to 10 and then after the time you have set runs out, the television will automatically switch off.
OVERALL
This is a really great television, which some really nice features. You get a great brand television, which is very easy to use, for a very good price.
