Even better than the real thing. (or a WEGA)
Pros
Great picture, plenty of inputs, advanced features
Cons
Will not fit some entertainment centers designed for 32" TVs
Recommended it?
Yes
First, of all this review is for the Panasonic CT-32SF37, which is this year's model of the 32SF36.
I bought this model because it was a flat-screen 32" television that was within my budget (under $1000). I was curious about the Sony WEGA but the Sony was outside of my price range and I had also heard of people having problems with it.
In short, I was impressed with the quality of the SuperFlat picture quality. It seemed as good, if not better, than the much higher priced Sony. In addition the CT-32SF37 had every bell and whistle that Panasonic could throw at it. Component inputs, 2-tuner PIP, surround sound, multiple S-Video and A/V inputs, this television came with the works. I did some additional research to determine how owners were finding the durability and quality of the unit, and found a lot of happy customers.
So I bought the CT-32SF37 at a small online merchant and it arrived safely a week later. (Most 32"+ televisions have to be delivered via freight service rather than UPS because of their size and fragility.) I continued to be impressed with this Television.
The inputs are well labeled and numerous. (1 component input, 2 S-Video, 2 coax, 4 A/V.) The remote is well-designed and easy to learn. As another great bonus the TV is well designed to cooperate with a stereo system as the TV can be set to output a fixed signal, no signal, a variable signal, or act as a center channel.
The picture was also great. The picture always seems smooth, clear, and sharp. Although the SuperFlat model is probably more a luxury than a requirement, the flat screen is noticeably clearer than a normal 32" when viewing from an angle.
The only disadvantage was the 32SF37 was a fraction of an inch larger than my entertainment center (which was designed for a 32" TV). On the other hand, its a testimony to this television's quality that I elected to keep the television rather than the entertainment center.
The bottom line:
The Panasonic CT-32SF37 is a high-end television with more bells and whistles than you probably need. Similarly, the 32" SuperFlat screen is of exceptional quality. And yet its considerably cheaper than its competitors, especially the much vaunted Sony WEGA.
