DVD in a car??the world is over

Pros good sound, good picture
Cons offers additional distractions while driving
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  DVDs are good, sound rocks, video rules, but keep the technology where it is meant to be.....AT HOME....It offers just another distraction to cause an MVA in a car
Welcome to the world of MVAs.....I digress from the original topic here to bring on a snippet of true reality. I know that many people would not be dumb enough to actually watch and pay attention to their favorite DVD movie while driving, but then some people would be.

I think all the world needs is another distraction for drivers, if there aren't enough already. Just the other day, I had some guy smack into me, because he was so immersed in a conversation on his cel phone, so he just ran a red light and T-boned me. Just a simple little distraction costed him a lot of money, well at least when the lawsuit is over and done with. Fortunately nothing happened to me, but my car is written off.

Now my question is, does the world need another distraction?

Sure this product is a good idea if it is used properly, you can take your fave DVD movies while you are out camping, taking your g/f out for a nice romantic evening when you want the privacy of your car, you could watch a DVD....WHILE PARKED SOMEWHERE.....basically, its best use is while parked.....

If people start using this stuff while driving along on the road, no thank you, I would rather kill my insurance and stay home for the rest of my life.

I have no doubt that it sounds good, and that the picture quality may be good....but not in cars.

There are some systems which are purposely built against distracting, like seat back monitors and sound that can only be heard thru headphones.......that is a lot safer...keeping the enjoyment for the backseat passangers, without distracting the driver, that is the only thing I would endorse.
