Maddeningly slow on powering on, slow to start playing, often requires reseting, avoid this product
Pros
Once the machine actually opens the tray, the video quality is excellent.
Cons
Slow, frustrating, very long power up process, long delays when starting to play new disk.

Very sorry I purchased the Panasonic DMR-EZ27. It starts very slow, often will not open the tray meaning you have to turn it on/off several times to reset it and takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes to play. If you have lots of time on your hands to wait standing with your finger pressed against the power button, this is your machine! If you actually want to watch a movie, avoid this one. I usually have good luck with Panasonic but this model is a dud.
