I have had my EZ37VS for about 3 months. I have had zero problems. I frequently record TV shows to DVD, and sometimes to VHS. Also, I just completed converting all of my VHS tapes to DVD. I converted about 225 tapes with no problems of any kind. Some of the VHS tapes were the large size and I used the combo for both input and output. For those VHS tapes that were the smaller VHS (90 minute type) tapes, that I have used for the past 13 years, I used my video camera as input to the ports (IN2) on the front of the recorder. Some of my VHS tapes go back to 1982, so they are 25 years old. All seem to have kept their quality prety well. I have recorded all of the DVDs in SP mode. It seems that the DVD quality on playback is better than playing the VHS tape. And the DVDs are so much nicer to play. The device has great functions for forward and reverse speeds, which makes it very easy to find whatever you are looking for.
