The Bottom Line:
It's a great product. It's filled with so many features that most DVD players have. Plus, it's a Panasonic. They've been known to make great products. It's a great investment.
The Panasonic DVD-LS5 is a great product. I've had mine for about a week now and it's great. It has a 5" LCD widescreen with excellent resolution. Very crisp lines and vivrant colors. The LCD can also tilt in various angles, making it very easy to view. It can also be viewed in a tablet fashion. Another feature I like is the ability to play different types of media. Aside from DVDs, this player can read CD-R/RW, VCD, DVD-R, CD. Not to mention MP3, WMA, and JPEG files. Now that's awesome.
Size: The size is perfect for portability. It's slightly larger than a CD case and as thick as 1".
Sound: The sounds is probably the only thing that's not quite up to my standards. Then again, it's a portable player, so you'll most likely be using headphones with it. Without headphones, your hear mono sound. But with the headphones, you get Dolby Surround Sound or DTS, if the DVD provides it.
Portability: Great. You can take it anywhere with you and not have to worry about the size. It's compact and great to carry around. It comes with a remote control so that it can be hooked up to a TV. Now that's genius!
Battery: The battery isn't bad. It hooks up to the back of the unit so it won't interfere with the LCD. Plus you won't have to lug a battery around in your pocket, like other models. On a full charge, with the LCD at normal brightness, you get a good 2.5 hours. I would recommend purchasing an extra battery. Preferably, the CGR-601. It has a larger capacity and gives you a good 4-5 hours on a full charge.
I definitely recommend this product. It's a Panasonic, what else is there to say?
