Pros Great picture and enough features and playable formats for the casual user.
Cons Sound--use headphones or hook up some external speakers.

With prices dropping on portable DVD players and Christmas right around the corner, I couldn't resist talking my sister into buying this Panasonic player for her daughter. Pros Size great for travel; easy to use; bright colors; index card-size screen was fine.
Cons $399 is quite expensive just for the luxury of entertaining myself on a long flight.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this for a long plane trip. The size is so nice and convenient that the player easily fit in my purse. (5.5 in x 6.5 in x 1 inch, roughly) The feature film on the flight was "From Justin to Kelly" featuring the kids from American Idol. I would rather stare at the back of the seat in front... Pros Very sharp screen and very watchable even at 5 inches, good sound, excellent quality
Cons A bit pricey (but worth every penny for the dedicated road warrior)

Compared to the Chinese imports (Apex, Initial, Cyberhome, etc.), the Panasonic DVD-LS5 is definitely a premium model, and both the price and quality show. Pros Better picture and sound than expected, plus user-friendly features.
Cons It's only a 5-inch screen, so it's probably not ideal for your SUV.

The Panasonic DVD-LS5 is a great product. I've had mine for about a week now and it's great. It has a 5" LCD widescreen with excellent resolution. Very crisp lines and vivrant colors. Pros Audio and video are great. Device is easy to use.
Cons Non-Panasonic DVD-R/AMs are not guaranteed to work.

I was really impressed with this model. Both the picture and the audio were high quality, but I found some problems when trying to play DVD-Rs.
