The DVD player itself works fine. Although, you do NOT receive 12 hours of playback. I would say it's more like 6 hours. In small writing on the box, it does say you have to have the brightness set at the lowest level and use headphones.
My problem is after having the unit for 4 months the AC power cord adapter stopped working, so then we could only charge it the unit in the car. I tried going through Panasonic for a replacement but after being transfered a billion times and given 20 different #'s to call, I learned it wasn't under warranty. It will cost $70 plus tax and shipping to replace. And of course it's on back order for a month.
Hopefully, my daughter won't be one of those screaming kids on the plane when we travel in 5 days :((
