Great For Travel
Pros
Small, great picture, easy to use
Cons
expensive to buy car adapter
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
A "must have" for families that travel.
I bought this player through an online auction site. It was a good buy for around $260.00. I was looking for a player that we could take on car trips. We just purchased a new SUV and the installed players are very cool but they cost $1500 to $2000. When you sell you vehicle, you also sell your DVD!
The player works very well. We took a 20-hour trip and watched videos the entire way. The picture is very clear, great sound, and easy to use.
The screen is small and is really only good for 1-2 users. If you have more viewers, you may elect to get a bigger screen.
The car adapter that you are supposed to buy is very expensive (around $145). I already had a AC/DC converter and just plugged my player into this. It worked fine. I would recommend you do the same. You can buy these at any department store.
The battery lasts around 300 minutes. So, you can only watch 1-2 movies before you'll need a charge. I recently took a west coast trip (5-hours in the air) and I was able to watch 2 movies.
I have also loaned this player to 2 other families to use. They also had great experiences. It really makes road trips or plane trips easier with kids.
I didn't do many comparisons against competitor models because it was an auction. Panasonic has a good reputation for electronics and the Palm Theater sounded really good and it is. I would recommend this player for anyone that has kids and travels.
