The Bottom Line:
Buy it! Excellent picture, sound, size (portability), and 4 hour battery life combined with the Panasonic name seal the deal that this is a great player.

I looked at all types of portable DVD players, from the 11" Toshiba 2500 (too big, disc drive makes noise when playing, at least $550) to the 7" $200 Initial players at Circuit City (you get what you pay for!), and felt that the DVD-LV60 had the most to offer for the price. Sound, picture quality, features, size, and the Panasonic name were all factors, and this one takes the cake. Granted, it's been replaced by the DVD-LV70, but I didn't want to spend $500 since the unit will be used for occasional vacation trips and extended car rides to out of town family locations.
It's since been used twice in the car and on 4 airplane flights, which has helped keep my 3 year old daughter entertained each time. The battery has lasted 4 hours each time, which allows for at least 2 entire movies, if not more. In addition, it's used at home connected to the TV as an additional DVD player, and it works great.
All in all, I'm very satisfied and would highly recommend this player. I've read on some sites that the sound quality isn't up to par, but I've not noticed that problem. As I said, it was used on an airplane while sitting on the tray table and my daughter could hear the movie with no problem. The 6" screen is just big enough to watch movies but not too big to carry on flights or use on the center armrest of a car.
I got mine on e-Bay for $309 with shipping and no tax.
