Panasonic DVD-LV75 7 in. Portable DVD Player

Many Mondays and Fridays I find myself hunkered down in an airline seat leaving on a business trip or returning from one. The routine is always the same as I watch the flight attendants half heartedly going thru the safety information, watching the one passenger try to stuff their oversize bag into a bin half the size, sitting next to someone who's trying to find out you're life's history, or the worst of all, sitting in the window seat next to the engines. If you're a self described " Road Warrior " then you know exactly what I'm describing.

I purchased the Panasonic LV-75 portable DVD player to pass the time on those long, boring flights. I have to tell you that I feel it is the answer to my prayers. It allows me to finally enjoy flights and enjoy the technological benefits that the DVD format gives. Picture quality, in my opinion,is excellent for such a little player. It is small enough to stick in your briefcase or travel bag, and fits nicely on the serving tray in front of your seat. By the way, you'll be surprised at the attention you'll get from other passengers and flight attendants who are wondering what you're looking at !

Sound quality is very good from the two speakers built into the system, but for flights, I highly recommend that you invest in a good set of " cans" as their called in the trade. I highly recommend the Bose Quiet Comfort Noise Cancelling Headset. Not big in size, but huge in quality.
They effectively, thru the Bose noise reduction system, cancel out 90 % of the background noise, allowing you to enjoy the digital sound that the LV-75 produces. They retail for about $ 300.00, but I was able to obtain a set thru my company's award's merchandise catalog. The other nice thing is that they come with an adapter that fits all planes' seat audio system, so no more paying four to five bucks for a set of headphones.

So much for the accessories. The LV-75 is sturdy, and yes, I have dropped it once with no problems except for a little dent in the silver coated body. Battery life is very good with the bottom attached battery giving approximately four hours of power. ( although I have watched two complete movies on one charge ) Charging the battery is simple and quick via the supplied charger. You can also use the AC power cord to use the player, which is handy considering you can attached the player to your home or hotel TV.
( This was especially good on a recent trip to Cancun when the monsoons started )

Some have stated in past reviews that they had problems with glare coming from the silver body of the system, but I have not found that to be a problem. Neither have I found the system to uncomfortably overheat, although the battery will get warm.

You can adjust the size of the picture, sound quality, color quality, and scan backwards and forwards, along with other features associated with DVD players. You also have the comfort of having the Panasonic name and experience behind this product.

If you're a Road Warrior, this is a must item to have. Long flights seem to go much faster, and you're not affected so much by engine noise. The LV-75 also can double as your home DVD system if you like, but I would highly recommend that you invest in good digital stereo equiptment to fully enjoy the DVD experience.

Finally, the only downside is the price. Look to pay around $ 1000.00 for this unit, so shop around. HSN generally has the unit and allows you to purchase it in installment payments. So my friends, enjoy.....it's worth the cost.....and don't forget to get a great set of
" cans " to further enhance your DVD experience.
