The Panasonic DVD-LV75 is a portable DVD player with Remote Control that lets you watch your favorite DVDs on the go. It is by far the best portable DVD player available and totally blows away the competition, mainly Sony's portable DVD players. Here is a break down of the main features...
The Player...
The player has a super-thin design, less than 1-inch thick. It is awesome for traveling! It is smaller than most laptops and is very light. It is about the size and weight of a large magazine and will pretty much fit anywhere. It has a superb design and looks great! It comes with everything needed to both watch DVD on the go and at home on your TV including a remote control, audio/video cables and an AC Adapter.
The Picture and Sound...
The 7-inch Diagonal Widescreen LCD is surprisingly sharp and very nice to look at. Sure its small, a measly 7 inches, but since you would be viewing it closer than say your big screen TV you still get a comfortable view of whats happening in the movie. You can also somewhat adjust the picture size to get the best view. The sound quality is pretty good with 2 built-in stereo speakers in the front of the unit. It also has built-in DTS with Dolby Digital sound. This unit is great with a good set of headsets.
The Power Supply...
The DVD-LV75 come with a battery pack that lasts approximately 3-4 hours. This isn't too bad, but it isn't too good either.
The battery is a lithium ion battery which recharges when plugged in. However, it only charges when it is off and does not charge while you are using it while its plugged in. You will have no problems watching a whole movie, but trying to watch two in a row could be a a stretch.
The Remote...
Yes, for all those lazy people, like me Panasonic was smart enough to add a remote! You probably won't need it on the go, but at home when you used the unit as a DVD player, hooked up to your TV this remote can be a life saver! The remote is very small and slim and has 35 buttons that will let you access all the functions, at least all the ones you need!
Easy of Use...
This unit is extremely easy to use. You can basically throw away the manual. It has on screen menus and most of the buttons are self-explanatory. Over all you should have very little problems using it.
The Price...
The price of this unit is the biggest bummer. When I saw this baby in the stores I was like damn I must have it. But, then the credit card bill comes and you wake up and realize that you can't afford to spend $1400 on something you "really" don't need. So its back to Circuit City for me. I am gona miss my new toy. :(
My final thoughts...
If I win the lottery this would be the first thing I would buy! However, unless you are loaded and have nothing to do with your money (in that case my college fund could use some donations!) I would recommend that you stay away from this player cause it will suck you in and you will be totally attached to it and will not be able to leave the store without it! The pushy sales people at Circuit City don't help either! Anyways if you are limited on the cash like me, I would suggest putting the $1400 towards a new laptop that probably has a built in DVD player in it!
