The Bottom Line:
Great DVD Player I highly recommend this one if you can afford it!
As the other reviews state(it's the same as the DVD RP62K which is black and it got great reviews), this is an awesome DVD Player, I'm glad I did my homework and bought this one after first buying the Toshiba SD-3800 which in it's self is a good DVD Player but the Panasonic is considerably better.
The Picture Quality is awesome on my regular analog TV, at first I did not like the fact that I could see the lines between the scans but that was because I was too close to the TV and it was at the start of when the DVD loads and it has that fancy animation DVDs always have before you can actually get to the menu.
The control response from the remote is very quick and does not lag behind, when you hit play it immediately responds and starts playing and if you are doing a forward or reverse search and hit play it resumes right where you hit play.
I also like how when it plays MP3s it shows the entire song name unless it's too long to fit in the song title field.
When you bring up the MP3 list of songs it displays them 10 tracks per page.
When it comes to playing VCDs it does a better job then even my PC, I made a VCD disc that had one track that would not play and would lock up the Toshiba DVD player and even my PCs Video CD software and I would have to hit stop (with the Toshiba I had to hold the power button to unfreeze it).
Now about the remote, like other reviews state, it's horrible, tiny buttons and illogically placed, I still have trouble locating the play button quickly. Plus it's shape is uncomfortable because it's got square edges that dig into you hand. The range of the remote is limited you almost have to point it directly at the unit to get a response but I assume a universal teachable Remote will cure these problems.
The user manual is skimpy and pretty much useless, if you don't know how to operate the unit I don't think the manual would be much help but it is pretty easy to understand how to operate the player.
These are just minor problems and don't detract from the quality of the unit, the Pros definitely outweigh the few Cons that are mostly nitpicking.
Also it is Made In Japan, another PLUS, the best Electronic stuff is made in Japan (Unlike Sony).
For under $200 ( I got it at Bestbuy.com for 130 a great price for such a awesome product)it's a great DVD Player.
