Panasonic DVD-RP62 DVD Player

After researching tons of reviews online and shopping around - I finally decided on the Panasonic. I knew I wanted a progressive scan dvd player and this was one of the most affordable. Progressive scan supposedly looks fabulous on HDTV - but movies look really good on my plain tube tv. So far it has been perfect - the picture is incredible, it runs smoothly. I was so happy with the purchase that I bought one for my parents. If anyone ask me for advice, I would have no qualms about recommending this dvd player.

I also like the fact that this allowed me to get rid of my cd player component on my stereo. I plugged it into my receiver, and because it plays cd's and mp3's in addition to dvd's - it is now my new cd player. The sound quality is great - I haven't tried playing mp3's on it yet, but I have heard that they sound equally good.

The dvd player has a ton of extra features. The variable fast forward and reverse are great - you can go frame by frame, increasing speed incrementally, to the point you can go through a whole movie in seconds! The zoom feature is also great - especially if you want to freeze frame and look at a detail in a movie.
