The Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ30 replaces the very popular FZ20. Panasonic's product development folks designed the FZ30 to include most of the improvements requested by users and all the best features of the FZ20.

What's New? How does the FZ30 differ from the FZ20?

The FZ30's 12x... Read full review »

In a digital SLR camera, you cannot see your views on the LCD screen before you take a photo. It is only after you take your photo that it apears on the LCD screen. Hence, a lot of imagination and prior thinking is required before you shoot your photos. But the DSLR images are very clear when... Read full review »

Introduction

I'm still in search of a digital camera to use as a backup to my film cameras. So far, nothing but the most expensive digital SLRs have been up to the task. Compact digital cameras above five megapixels take fine snapshots for computer viewing or making small prints. Below... Read full review »

I moved up from a 4 megapixel Canon(G3). I've always owned Canon cameras and I was nervous to stray into new brands. I was considering the Rebel above all others. After reading EVERY review I could get my hands on, I decided to buy the Lumix. I fortunately waited several months for my birthday to... Read full review »

I recently purchased a Panasonic FZ30K and I must say I am super happy with the camera and my choice. I won't bore you with the technicals (there are plenty of those reviews out there) but I will say what makes me love it so much and go over a few key features:
1) Lens--Obviously the Lens and... Read full review »

I've recently been lucky enough to test a Fuji S9500 and a Panasonic FZ30.
Out of the two I've decided to buy the Panasonic. The main reasons are it's excellent build quality and more importantly, it's shooting performance.
I went out today in terrible weather, poor light, high winds and... Read full review »

After having taken a few thousand images with this camera so far, I think I can easily recommend this camera to anyone who either is unsatisfied with their point and shoot camera, or is looking to move up to a DSLR but does not yet have either the cash or the knowledge to use one.

After researching and comparing this camera (fz30) with others in this price range and higher, I decided to buy the Panasonic DMC FZ30. Cons Noisy in low light, viewfinder too small

Having owned the FZ-30 for over a year now I feel fairly well qualified to give an informed opinion. First, I'll admit it can be noisy. Pictures taken in available light are noisy but, with flash, they become acceptable. Same goes for the high ISO noise ...., if you shoot primarily sports action at... Read full review »

I was thinking about a Digital SLR replacement for my Good old Minolta, hoping that I can get some use for my lenses...
