Great basic MP3 and WMA player, great sound.
My OEM 6-disc "audiophile" unit went kaput in my SVT Focus. So I needed to replace the unit with something that had a few more features. I wanted a front-loading CD instead of one that required the face to flip down. As well, I needed to hook up my OEM amp/subwoofer combo.

Good replacement CD/Radio
Installed the CQ-C1401U in my wife's 1989 300SE after the original Becker tape/radio quit. Some modification to the Panasonic installation tray was required. Only the radio worked (no CD) until I called Panasonic support (800-545-2672) and they told me about an error in the installation... Read full review »

I bought this unit to replace my OEM stereo and after comparing numerous players under $200US the C1401U was the best value:
