great investment
Pros
Incredible Picture, best I've seen(and I have seen them all)plays DVD's flawlessly
Cons
all peripherals, navigation, TV tuner, Digital Sound Processor are fairly expensive.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Since the Price has come down I would consider it the best in dash Video DVD unit you could buy. Picture is the BEST and sound is incredible.
When I purchased this unit It was barely out on the market and I paid considerably more for it than you can purchase it for now. I am glad I did not wait though as it has provided me with many hours of entertainment on the road. It has the best picture I have seen of all of the differnent brands on the market. It could use some kind of screen saver though for when you continuously listen to the radio or a cd the graphics are not very exciting. The biggest problem with this system is probably the cost of all of the peripherals to go along with it. If you want the navigation there goes another $1100, the DSP is another $450
and the the changer another $150 to $250 depending on your choice. One other small fault is that it will not play CD-R's in the dash unit only in the changer. Oh and is should be black not gold to match most car interiors, something to do with the Japanese associating gold with excellence.
Overall though I don't think it could be beat in the quality department. I had an Eclipse for 2 years previously and it was a nice unit but the picture quality is nowhere near as good not to mention considerably smaller
and in 4:3 format versus 16:9 for the Panasonic. Well that's it. Hope that helps anyone that's interested
