FM Reception Glaringly Poor

The Panasonic Shelf System (SCEN17)'s FM tuner is very poor. The single CD player works well. The speakers are OK, but delivers far less range than I want. I connected them to my cambridge soundworks microworks speaker system with subwoofer which greatly enhances the sound quality to an acceptable level, with some tweaking of the SC EN17's equalizer. The killer was the very poor FM reception. I intend to return it to Circuit City soon and am resigned to the fact I will have to shell out more money for good quality compact system.
