Wireless is not worth it
Pros
Good sound from wired speakers, mp3 player jack on the remote speaker.
Cons
Wireless reception poor, cant have multiple wireless speakers.

I bought this unit exclusively because I wanted to use this unit in my kitchen as a sound system, with the base and primary speakers at one end of the table and at the other end the wireless unit. Total distance is about 20 feet with only a kitchen table and warm bodies in between. The wireless could not keep enough signal to always keep the remote hot, especially when we were sitting at the table!
A couple of weeks ago a lightning strike at my house burned up the base unit (in spite of the 3A fuse in the power supply). I wanted to buy another unit, and then have two wireless remotes so improving the surround effect. To my dismay, the unit cannot accommodate the second wireless speaker.
