Buy stock in the Lamp manufacturer
Hi everyone I got ripped off two this piece of junk eats lamps. The first time about 6 months the lamp went out and of course they do not carry the lamps in stock or maybe they do and they just cannot get enough of them. Paid around 3000.00 for this piece of crap.

Do not buy Panasonic!! This is a lemon product
There is a MAJOR bulb life problem with this set. Plan to spent $300 per year in bulbs (if you replace yourself). I will never again purchase a Panasonic product. Do yourself a favor and buy a different brand. Read full review »
Panasonic PT-50LC13 50 Extremely Unreliable
This TV has the greatest outside cabinet (eye appeal), excellent sound and picture quality, which is why I bought it. As for its performance, it can't get much worse, despite me rarely even using it. Fantastic picture, no reliability issues at all.
I bought my PT-50LC13 on ebay, refurbished; I was a little nervous, having read the other reviews here on the ballast problems, but I went ahead anyhow with a low bid, and am glad I did.

The rating of this device is being raised slightly because after repair, it hasn't failed in two years. The first couple of years with this were unacceptable because of the short TY-LA1000 lamp life. Sometime in the third year, the bulb died again, and a new bulb did not...
