Pros Fantastic picture (HD and otherwise) Ease of operation,many inputs
Cons 4:3 aspect but that's all there was back in '01
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this model Panasonic on Valentines Day 2001.It has been one of the best investments I've ever made.Racking my brain, I can't seem to think of one single problem I've encountered. Read full review »

Pros Good picture/Great Screen
Cons Potential fire hazard due to circuit board sparking.
Recommended it? No

I have bought a PT-51HX40 in 2000 and it recently burned out...literally...the circuit boards started smoking and caught on fire. Luckily we were home so we could unplug and stop the flame. I think this is really risky and should have a recall or upgrade. Read full review »

My Panasonic PT-51HX40 broke in just over 2 years. It is $500 to fix and the repairman says that the problem with the amplifiers and resisters on Panasonic TVs are common. Why no recall? Avoid big screen panasonics!!!! Read full review »
