The Bottom Line:
If you purchase a 5 year warranty I would recommend this TV. The picture was very good while it lasted. It was a great television.
I've had this television for three years now. One day I turned it on and the picture had green and red bowed lines making it impossible to view. I looked up the problem on the internet and found that this is a common problem. I called Panasonic and they said if I got it fixed ($400) and sent them the work order they would consider maybe paying for half the repair. After considering their offer I came to the conclusion that it wasn't enough. I've only had this TV for 3 years. Warranty or not if it is happening to many of these units then it should be repaired at no charge. I paid $1,200 and now I have to pay $400 and most people who have had this convergence problem repaired had the same problem within a year or two.
The picture was great and it had all the hook ups you could want. Changing options can get confusing. It's big and heavy. Moving it can be a chore. The sound is average and the customer service is poor. Good luck if you buy this model. Cross your fingers the convergence doesn't go out and get at least a 5 year extended warranty if you can afford it.
