Recommended it? Yes
I have used the Panasonic PT-56WXF90 numerous times. It's quite a popular model in some stores, and it's a very high quality HDTV. One of my buddies has this TV, so I asked her if I could borrow it for a weekend. She said yes, so I picked it up and I hooked it up in my basement. I was going to use it for a whole weekend, I had everything, DVD, Super Nintendo, and plenty of microwavable popcorn. So after a whole weekend of usuage, and plenty of usage and my friend's homes, here's what I found with the Panasonic PT-56WXF90:

Price:
The price of the Panasonic PT-56WXF90 comes in around $4500. That's how much my friend had purchased it for. Some higher end Sony HDTVs like mine come around at $9999. This is an excellent price for an HDTV of such quality. It's Panasonic, which is a brand name that people trust. Today, you can't find high quality HDTVs at such a cheap price. She also said she got a 1 year Panasonic parts&labor warranty. The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 is set at a very good price.

Warranty:
She said she got a warranty from the store with the TV, a 1 year parts&labor warranty. Panasonic and Sony are very trustworthy with their warranties, many people I know own Panasonic products. They say they have no problems with Panasonic and their warranties, they say they are taken care of with few or no hassles at all.

Installation:
I personally had no problems at all installing this TV. But usually when it's delivered, the delivery people install the TV. Also, if problems do persist during installation, you can always call people from Panasonic, and they'll come and help. The video inputs are all within very easy access, and there is a detailed instruction manual that comes with the TV. Within about 10 minutes, the TV was ready to go. Installation shouldn't be a hassle.

Styling:
The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 isn't all too attractive. It's like any other bland HDTV. It isn't meant to attract attention when it's off, but when it's on... let the eyes amaze themselves.

Durability:
The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 is a very solid TV that is made to last a very long TV. It's made out of very solid components, it's such a strong TV. It's more durable than other TVs that I saw at a similar price range. The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 is meant to last you a while.

Sound:
The sound produced from the Panasonic PT-56WXF90 is fairly good. It doesn't compare with the Dolby Digital sound that comes standard on most Sony HDTVs or projection TVs. The sound though was never fuzzy or static, the sound was always very smooth and clear. The sound works very accordingly with watching DVDs or anything like that. The sound is sufficient for any average user. If you're looking for the ultimate home entertainment system with the sound, buy external speakers or buy a Sony HDTV.

Video:
The video on the HDTV is great! The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 works very well. All of the images are very sharp and look just like real life. The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 also has some advantages over other HDTVs. The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 can project native and 1080i and 720p viewing. It doesn't need to be processed unlike other HDTVs. The resolution and colors are just great, there are no lines at all, and the pixels are all blended in so smoothly. The screen is a very wide 16:9 screen, it provides very nice images with it. The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 also allows for an external HD tuner. The NTSC allows video to be double lined and to be tuned from 480i to 480p. The bars which appear are scanned, so they won't burn into the monitor. The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 really creates some great video wonders, and its features are just incredible.

DVD Compatibility:
There are inputs (S-inputs) in the Panasonic PT-56WXF90 which allow for external devices to be used with the TV. DVDs are very popular today, and are used often with HDTVs. The DVD quality on the Panasonic PT-56WXF90 is some of the best that I have ever seen. Most DVDs have video tuned to 480i, but the Panasonic PT-56WXF90 has NTSC video which can tune the DVD video all the way up to 480p! The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 really works wonders, and the DVD quality is purely incredible with the Panasonic PT-56WXF90.

Other Cool Features:
*You can connect the Panasonic PT-56WXF90 to a Dolby Digital Reciever, which you can purchase. The Dolby reciever can generate superior sound.

Drawbacks:
Sometimes the 16:9 screen can be too wide for people. The 16:9 rather than a 4:4 takes some getting used too. Many people don't like the incredibly widescreens on most HDTVs.

The HD tuners that are external are also quite hard to find. Many people do have trouble finding them.

The Verdict:
The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 is simply a great HDTV. It comes in at a great price of only around $4500. I found it to be a great TV, and I couldn't help enjoying myself. I would put it at the same level as Sony. One great thing about it as that you can get an external HD Tuner (If you can find one) or plug in a Dolby Reciever for great sound. The Panasonic PT-56WXF90 is well worth the money, and will look great in a house, it will impress everyone.
