The Bottom Line:
For a low-cost and effective projector for small businesses and churches, this cannot be bettered at present - worth much more than the price tag.
In the UK, this projector can be bought for under #700 including taxes, so making it a real and viable alternative to an eBay second-hander.
It is small enough to fit inside my laptop bag, and bright enough for average light daytime presentations (1200 lumens), the colours are bright and vivid and the contrast is excellent. Movies play well and when we connected it to the PS/2 - wow!
Controls are really straightforward and the autosetup feature will detect an input (composite, s-VHS or Computer) and work out what tilt the projector is at and make a good job of auto-keystoning.
One of the best features is that when you power it off, a fan keeps running to cool the 2000 hour lamp, so you can just pick it up and go. Replacement lamps are less than #200.
The case is a little sad, just a thin slip case; but at this size (less than A4) the projector can be protected in the same case as your laptop. Remote control is credit card sized, and cannot do zoom/focus or link to the PC (I think there is an optional extra one which can do this), but does what it needs to very well and slots into the projector when not in use.
There is an excellent 3 year full swap-out warranty.
Audio output tested from the PS/2 was adeqate, you realise that you can't expect home theatre output from such a small speaker. The video image appeared to me to be good and even. I am sure than the videophiles would regard 1200 lumen as inadequate, but I am perfectly happy with it, and looking forward to projecting the Euro 2004 Soccer Tournament on it!
If you want a low cost projector for presentations and fun, then this is excellent value. It's small, light and performs with good bright colours.
