When I first got my Panasonic vcr, I was sort of panic striken. The thing has a lot of features, and does a lot for the price I paid. It is a 4 head vcr, and I basically wanted a vcr that would be cheap and also hold up to LOTS of taping and playing of kids shows for my daughter. This particular model has all the usual features in a 4 head vcr; i.e.: rewind, auto-rewind, fast forward, pause etc. I was surprised at all the features that the vcr had, for the price I paid for it, really.
I found it quite easy to program the remote, and also to program to record. The remote tends to be kind of big and bulky, particularly if you are like me, and have small hands. It's not easy to lose it though, and easy to find in the dark, so I guess it's larger size has it's perks!
The vcr has another perk: it has a backup in case the power goes out, the clock still stays running. This means that you never have to reprogram the clock, should you have a power failure.
Since I wanted a vcr for my daughters room, to play kid shows, I wasn't particularly attracted to the newer models with a lot of fancy stuff on them. I wanted a simple one, that will withstand time, and would also be easy for a young child to work in a matter of a few years, when she is old enough to use the remote, etc. If you are looking for a good quality, 4 head vcr with easy programming, and a nice remote, check this one out.
I have to also comment that I have been a fan of Panasonic for decades now. I find their products withstand the test of time, more so than many other brands. I also find this to be a solid and sturdy vcr for my daughters room, and one that will give her many years of playback of her favorite Barney, Sesame Street and Scooby Doo tapes!
