Pros Small footprint, one piece convienence
Cons Average video, have problems with tape function, remote control not intuitive
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  I would stick to the seperate units if this is what the company considers "normal" performance.
I picked this up to replace a 15 year old Sony 13" and a seperate Sony VCR. The picture looked good in the store, but pales in clarity to the 15 year old Sony. But, fair enough for a small extra room.
No the video...I have to turn the volume way high to hear the audio playback on the vcr. This is only at about three feet. You can hear the buzzing of the loud volume in the speaker with the program audio. If you stop the tape, the audio from the TV signal will knock you out of the chair. Tried new tapes, cleaned heads. No change. Took it to the shop for repair (at 3 mos). They only had it four weeks before telling me it worked fine. The tech said he called Panasonic support and was told these units (combos) have an audio problem that is not correctable. He cleaned the heads and gave it back to me. Took it home. Still didn't work well. Called Panasonic, they directed me to take it back to the repair shop. Now two weeks later, I haven't heard anything.
This won't be resolved to my satisfaction, and I spent $200 on something I used very little and no longer want. After hooking the old TV and VCR back up, I realize how inferior the Panasonic is. If you interested in one of these, I will have one for sale when it gets out of the shop.
