Great Camcorder for a Great Price

Pros Great camcorder, excellent price, lots of features
Cons Wish battery would last longer
Recommended it? Yes
I recently got to use the Panasonic camcorder for about a week, and I definitely have it say it's an excellent piece of work for the price. At around $500 for my model it was easy to use and included a bunch of cool features (note: they do have several models with more features/functionality for a little more $$$).

The best feature of the camcorder was the color LCD view screen. I definitely have to say it's one of those great inventions added to camcorders, and you can't live without it. It gives you the ability to see (in color) exactly what you're taping (without having to look in a little hole). And with its swivel action, you can move it all around with ease. The picture came in crisp and clear, and made it a joy to use.

Other nifty features that it included was a light (so incase what you're viewing is in a dark area you'll beable to still see it -- trust me, it does come in quite handy), the VCR functions right on the camcorder -- so you can watch & hear everything that you've taped without hooking it up to a VCR, and Zooming feature of up to 26 times -- so you can focus on even the most far away things.

My only gripe is with the battery. It only has a life of about 2 hours (or maybe 3 if you're lucky) before you need to recharge it. And it takes about 6 to 7 hours to fully recharge. So I highly suggest buying an extra battery, and getting a power adapter. It'll be worth the extra money.

After using it for about a week, I definitely have to say it's a great camcorder. It's lightweight, has a ton of functionality, and works well in almost any condition. (Not to mention, it's pretty rugged -- considering I dropped it a few times and nothing broke).

Overall, I definitely recommend this camcorder to anybody looking for one with lots of functions and in a reasonable price. It's perfect for a growing family -- to capture all those "firsts". The picture comes in stable and clear and the sound comes in crisp.
