My brother and sister-in-law got me the Panasonic PV-M1369 for a gift for Graduation from HS, for use when I attend University. This model has more then sufficently met that requirement - it has been the perfect TV/VCR Combo for the Dorm life.
First, it's small. The compact size fits perfectly on the provided Dorm room dressers. The front-mounted RCA connections made hooking up a Playstation or another VCR (for dubbing tapes) very simple, no need to pull everything apart. The hookups was basicaly like that of any normal TV - though I do love the auto clock set.
The Features are great! A built-in radio, combined with the Campus routed radio-via-cable gives tons of local radio stations with great sound. The sleep function is a bit lacking - only 30, 60 and 90 minute intervals, but it's useful enough. An Alarm Clock feature, where it will turn on the TV at a time - very nice! The alarm is nice and loud, can be set to any TV or radio station, or even to play a Tape. By far this is one of the nicest features of the unit. Also, it has a "Nite" function - where with a button press, the screen will go dimmer for ease of others in the room or to assist in sleeping.
The Remote is functional and simple - with an Eject button for the VCR, and a 100 button for more channels above 99. Of course, the programing is simple on-screen and very easy.
Overall, I can't say anything really BAD about the unit that would cause someone to choose another unit over it. I highly reccomend it.
