Excellent product, but worth the price ?

Pros Supreme Picture Quality, Excellent Sound, quality contrast
Cons Price, construction, reliability, durability
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  The Panasonic offers great quality sound, color contrast, and picture quality, at a steep price and at the expense of reliability
Overview
First of all, I want to clarify that I do not recommend this product not only because the price does not fit the product, but because I do not believe that a VCR should break every few weeks and need constant repair to keep working. It is my opinion that a VCR should be a reliable product that one can depend on to watch movies at your leisure. With that said, I must praise the actual VCR for several reasons:

Specifics

Pros
Number one, It is the color. This Panasonic VCR gives such vibrant, deep color and contrast. In contrast to other VCR's I have owned, the color on this VCR is not washed out and bland, but bright and vivacious. I would recommend this VCR to someone who wants to spend a lot of money to get the best possible color, as I have not seen a superior product in regards to color.

Another nice thing about this Panasonic is that it has dynAmorphous and Flying Erase Head, which are another two things that should be included in any quality VCR. These qualities of a VCR definitely enhance the viewing experience, and contribute to my overall opinion that this VCR should be bought by the serious movie-watcher who likes special features to make their viewing experience special.

Cons

One of the many things that I don't like about this Panasonic is its build. It has too many plastic parts. Especially, the front hinged door, which looked very fragile so you would have to be careful with it. I have many qualms about this machine's reliabilty, as it seems to stop playing tapes at random points during various movies, which is an attribute of a VCR that can ruin a romantic mood or destroy a comedic piece. I have to take it to get fixed at the shop every few weeks, which is certainly a hassle I do not have time for.

In all, I would not recommend this product to anyone unless they want to look forward to a time of angst and stress for getting the machine fixed all the time.
