The Bottom Line:
Unacceptable for normal viewing and listening. We returned it after only 2 days.
Our first disappointment was the obviously degraded picture. This was seen when just viewing the picture using the VCR tuner. The recorded picture was even worse. The unit made a very annoying hum-buzz noise when recording or playing back -- presumably the heads spinning. It is amazing that a VCR with Commercial Advance can be sold for only $100, but the quality shows that they must have cut every quality corner possible. The housing is very wide (17 inches) giving it a clunky look unless you need it to match the width of your audio equipment. While the remote has every feature imaginable, the layout is small with buttons close together and with confusing labeling.
