Panasonic PV-V4612S 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR With Commercial Advance And VCR Plus+
The VCRs are getting cheaper and cheaper as other electronics do. At the same time, they get new (or previously expensive) features. The Panasonic PV-V4612 is an excellent value at less than $100.
It has a feature that makes viewing time shift recordings so much more pleasurable -...

Panasonic PV-V4612S: Could have been a contender.
Overall, B- grade. Some nice features, but many other features are poorly implemented and the remote is unwieldy. Video quality appears to be comparable with my second VCR, a Magnavox, circa 1995. Considering the price, the VCR is an excellent value. More details follow:

The unit made a very annoying hum-buzz noise when recording or playing back -- presumably the heads spinning. It is amazing that a VCR... Read full review »
Noisy VCR
My Panasonic PV-V4612S was purchased at Circuit City in Aug 02. I like the color (silver; better visibility, matches my TV) and the remote (good feel, AA batteries, easy access to FF/Stop keys). I also like the display which shows time when not in use as well as if a tape is loaded. The commercial... Read full review »
