C'mon, five more minutes, Mom!
Pros
Dual alarms, easy buttons, forward and reverse time setting buttons.
Cons
Small sound, short snooze, analog tuning.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This is a great dual-alarm clock radio. The sound is probably about average, but the rest of the features are well above average.
I finally got rid of my old, huge, dual-alarm clock radio. It had great sound (it was big), but the buttons were just too hard to use.
The RC-6299 is a great dual-alarm clock radio. My wife and I need two alarms, so we were pretty limited on what we could buy, and we made a good choice.
The Pros:
Dual Alarms. Not just an advantage, but a necessity for us.
Easy Buttons. The snooze is easy to find in the morning. The separate buttons to turn the two alarms on or off are very convenient for weekends. The buttons to set the alarms and times have a nice feel to them.
Forward/Reverse Time Setting Buttons. How many times have you tried to set a time, only to overshoot by a minute or two when the time setting shifts into high-speed mode? The RC-6299 has a Reverse button, so you can easily correct that kind of goof.
The Cons:
Small Sound. It's a table top clock radio. Don't expect surround sound.
Short Snooze. The snooze button gets you seven minutes. I am used to a nine minute snooze.
Analog Tuning. It's 2001, for crying out loud! Why am I still spinning a dial to pick a radio station?
Bottom Line:
I've had the RC-6299 for about 3 months, and I'm very happy with it. Need a new dual-alarm clock radio? Get this one.
