So much for so little-it's called value!

Pros great value, many options, powerful speakers, full-function remote
Cons no direct preset buttons, no echo mode
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I'm surprised noone else wrote anything about it, it is an excellent product.
This Panasonic model is just one of many sound systems that Panasonic offers. It was a pleasant surprise to get so much for a decent price.
This is my first sound system that I've ever bought. Before this I had a bunch of boomboxes, the ones you throw some batteries in and take to the beach. But this new Panasonic is the best quality stereo that I've ever paid. For $170 I obtained a stereo with two-way speakers powered with 140 watts, 70 watts each, full-function remote, twin tape deck, 5 CD changer and a big list of cool effects that you can add to the sound. The dissapointment was that it doesn't have an echo button. This model is designed in Japan and assembled in Malaysia while speakers are assembled in Singapore.

As for sound quality I have no complains. Some people can't live without 300 watt stereo but I am not one of them. I don't shake my house with bass power. As for those who like that I'd reccomend sticking with a more powerful stereo which is respectively more expensive.

The quality of CDs is great even though it is known that the more CD's the changer has the poorer is the quality of playback. With 5 CD changer in my stereo I still find it clear and reliable even with discs that are somewhat scratched or slightly damaged.
Most local radio stations are clear and are tuned in. Some short wave stations though get a little static from time to time. All you have to do is adjust an antenna which by the way, comes in the box.
My biggest praise is that I got rid of two things my boombox had and my new Panasonic doesn't:
1 is an annoying dial for Radio stations.
2 is the always breaking tape play and stop and rewind buttons that have to be pushed in with a lot of effort.

I am very satisfied with this product and I'd recommend it to others except I get a feeling that for some of you out there this wouldn't be enough. As I mentioned before more power and more options means more digits in price.

I was choosing between this model and similar Aiwa. I think I made the right choice.
