Not bad, but...
Pros
sound, interesting display, great remote control
Cons
cd changer might get stuck and is slow
Recommended it?
Yes
I had trouble deciding between this and a 3 disc Aiwa stereo. I chose this because I have had troubles with Aiwa in the past. The sound on this Panasonic's speakers are great, the controls are very nice, it has some interesting digital displays in the front (often a conversation piece as well as something you can stare at for hours) and over all, the stereo makes me happy. The biggest, and probably only problem I have with this stereo is the way the cd's are stored and the way they change. Cds are stored vertically in the player so when you want to move from cd 5 to cd 4, a lot of shuffling takes place and it takes much longer than it should. In addition, the system has gotten stuck on me while changing cds, trapping all of my cds inside. The only way I have found to fix this is to unplug the stereo and quickly plug it back in again. For some reason this allows the cd player to become "unstuck," and brings it back to disc 1.
I have not had problems with this recently, and if it happens to you, maybe it is something that could be fixed with some maintenance. But it is quite bothersome to me when it happens, and scared me until I figured out how to temporarily fix it.
Besides this, it is a great stereo, and if you can deal with the cds getting stuck from time to time, then it is a good purchase.
