I WILL get my money out of this stereo!
Pros
Great sound, many features on remote
Cons
Pretty on the outside but flimsy guts
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
My stereo is in constant need of repair and it's only a matter of time before I have to junk it. It sounds great though.
I bought this stereo from a friend who used it at the office, so it was a little dirty and abused when I got it, but I am not impressed.
The auto open/close CD lid broke after a few months of use and I had to tear it apart to disconnect the mechanism so I could just manually open and close the lid and keep using the CD player. A few weeks later the remote, which was a majorly redeeming quality of this stereo, died. Now I have it within reach and operate it manually.
This stereo's display is too bright! I tried to put it in my bedroom but it lit up the whole room when it was played and remained brightly lit even when it was off (power LED and LCD backglow). At one point I taped a 3x5 card to the front to block out the light so I could have it next to the bed (after the remote died).
So, needless to say, I am not too impressed with this Panasonic. It does, however, have great sound--significant enough to almost equalize all the negatives I've noted.
I would advise against this model unless you get a great deal under $100.
