Unusually Slim, Excellent Features, Great Buy!

Pros Unusually Slim, AA or AAA Batteries, 35 hr. playback!
Cons Repeat Button doesn't start at beginning of track, not back-lit light.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Great Buy, Excellent Features, I would recommend this rather than higher priced Sony's although it wouldn't look as good as Sony's. Can use for frisbee too!
I exchanged my Sony D-EJ621 for the Panasonic in search of better sound quality and I found it. This unit is unusually slim, slimmer than any Sony model in the market today, and accepts both AA and AAA batteries. The only drawback to this feature is that when the AA batteries are in place, the battery lid is designed to stick out about 25 degrees which looks a bit awkward.

What I Like

Very Slim, AA/AAA batteries, great sound quality, CDR/RW compatible, 35 hour playback, and 3/4 EQ settings.

What I Dislike

The EQ settings include normal, XBS(extra bass), and Train? Yes train, which is supposed to make the sound coming from the headphones not as loud as to not bother surrounding passengers on a train. O-kay. Anyways, this function is OK, I didn't notice much of a difference in terms of loudness between normal and train. The sound is different though.. normal is normal and train is muddy, unclear, crap. It seems like they just through in an extra sound option and since it sounds like crap, they decided to call it Train as to make it sound somewhat useful which it isn't. But overall, the sound quality using normal and XBS is great. Not the best I've ever heard from a CD player, but better than the more expensive Sony's, Sony D-EJ621 in particular. Also, the button/lever or whatever it's called to open the CD top is a bit cumbersome to use because you have to have your fingers completely off the top AND sides to open the unit. Sounds easy but it isn't. That's my only problem. Oh, the repeat function doesn't start at point where you turned off the CD player but at the beginning of the track that you were playing just before you turned it off. I can sort of see a reason why they did this.. but it's weird.
