The Bottom Line:
IF you want a good sounding mp3 player for a decent price, you have to check this out. For the price, you can't get much better.
I purchased the Panasonic SL-MP70 CD/MP3 player so I could listen to music while at work. I wanted an MP3/CD player with good sound quality, mp3 tag support, and I wanted it as cheap as possible. While there are other no-name brands on the market, I at least wanted a brand name. A coworker of mine has an older Panasonic model that he loves. So, after listening to his, I bought it. Overall, it was a great deal. The price of $30 was mis-marked when I bought it (supposed to be $60). I probably still would have bought it at $60.

The Good & The Bad:
--------------------
The sound quality is better than I expected. I primarily use it to play mp3 CDRs and have had zero problems. I didn't even try to use the headphones that came with it, they looked pretty junky. I bought a power adapter for it, so I can't comment on battery life, though I've read other reviews that is is comparable to the other players in it's class. The Dot Matrix display is easy to read and scrolls longer names. The controls allow easy navigation. You can fast forward through a song as well as skipping songs and whole albums (directories) if you're listening to mp3s. The one complaint I have is with the mp3 tag display. Panasonic gives you 4 display options: album name (directory name), file name, mp3 tag album title, or mp3 tag track title. It would be nice to be able to see bot the album title (or artist) and track title. I am not sure if this is offered on other mp3 players, but it just makes sense. The overall durability didn't seem great when I opened it as the case is made of plastic, but I've dropped it a few times and nothing has broken. Overall, well worth the money.
