As I look around in my room for inspiration to write more reviews, I find my sister's Panasonic CD Player. This player was a present to my sister, purchased around the same time I bought my Sony Discman (Which I have written a review about. Check it out.). I wanted to write a review on the magnificent Panasonic SHOCKWAVE SL-SW505 for quite some time, and I guess I shall do so now.
I shall now list the scintillating features the Panasonic Shockwave comes with.
-Has Anti Shock Memory II, which supplies this portable CD player with 40 seconds (oh yeah, I said 40) of skip protection. Basically, the player can store up to 40 seconds of audio data, thereby preventing your favorite song from skipping when you are erratically jumping up and down to your phabulous phat beats!
-Possesses the powerful XBS (Extra Bass System). Along with the special set of headphones that accompanies the player, you'll feel the monstrous bass just shaking your brain with it's power. Trust me, when you listen to your songs with the XBS, your adrenaline will completely flood your brain thanks to the level of bass this player can supply.
-The SHOCKWAVE Player concept possesses both a water-resistant AND a strong, durable design to it. The case of the player is locked tight by two strong latches, giving the player a stronger base when playing CDs. Both features, coupled with the skip-protection system, can mean using this player for rigorous activity, without worrying about damaging any of its components. Plus, there's a pop-up button feature to the player, so you don't have to pull on your CDs hard in order to remove them from the SHOCKWAVE.
-There are two sets of jacks located on the player; one for your headphones, and one so can attach the SHOCKWAVE to an external set of speakers or to a stereo system. It also has an AC/DC jack, for a plug that accompanies the player. You don't have to use batteries all the time, you know.
-Finally, the SHOCKWAVE can play up to fourteen hours of continuous play with only two AA alkaline batteries. A terrific feature for a person always on the go. Just don't forget to bring an extra pair of batteries, in case of emergencies.
Unfortunately, car attachments don't come with the SHOCKWAVE when you buy it, but when I bought mine for my sister, it came with a special deal where you can order a free set of car attachments if you mail in a proof of purchase. Besides that, you can always buy car attachments separately.
Overall, this player is a good buy. For only 150 dollars, you truly get your money's worth. And if you're always on the go, a very active person, or you just want to buy a good CD Player, buy the Panasonic SHOCKWAVE SL-SW505. You will not regret it.
