Panasonic SL-SX280G CD Player
The Panasonic SL-SX280 CD player is currently a Panasonic?s basic (and least expensive) model.
There are three colors available: Silver/Blue (SX280), White/Blue (SX280W) and Teal/Blue (SX280G).
The SX280G has attractive design with teal lid. The buttons to control the player are...

A Better Sounding Portable CD Player!
The Good:
I recently purchased this player because my old one which was also a Panasonic was bought by a friend. I guess I also missed the Panasonic smooth sound. Got this player for what I would consider a very reasonable price of $60. Before I continue, I would like to start by listing...

Sony sucks. Panasonic is under appreciated.
All diskman's should come with anti-skip. This isn't rocket science. It's common sense. If I buy a portable diskman then it's obvious that I'm going to be traveling and listening at the same time. I shouldn't have to be still to listen to it. I shouldn't have to hold it a certain way to listen to... Read full review »
7 years and still going strong
This CD player has served me for 7 years and it still plays like its new, even after playing thousands of CDs. The player has also survived through several drops but no damage. The Equalizers do introduce some static but there is hardly any and there is absolutely no static with the equalizers off. Read full review »
Great
I got this for my 12th birthday just over a year ago and it is great.
In one year this thing has been luged to school and back nearly every day, accoumpined me on many car trips and travled with me to washington state (i live in maraland)
as well as The U.K.
So strong its...

I go along with the majority here - overall a great unit
I bought my unit on E Bay for about 29 bucks which was a great deal. The first day I had it I was very disappointed because I thought it was a lemon. But I later found out it was actually the CD I was using which must have been flawed. Since that time I've had nothing but praise for the unit.

Very nice CD player
I've had this player for about 6 months and it works like it did the first day I got it. The sound on the machine is incredible, especially after you buy better headphones. The bass is more than adequate for whatever type of music you listen to.
Not only does it have good sound but it's...

Enjoying my portable CD player....
This is one nice portable CD player. I brought it to use mainly in my car. Through my journeys travelling with this music machine I found that the anti-skip really works. Where my daughters old CD player gets interrupted the SL-SX280 just keeps on playing. It comes with some great features too. I... Read full review »
A decent player with some flaws
When my baby, the Sony D-F411 Discman died, I needed to get a new Discman. I didn't want a very expensive model, because I wanted an MP3/CD portable, but couldn't afford one just yet. So, I was given this Panasonic player.
The biggest problem is that the player is underpowered. What I...

Excellent CD player
I just bought this CD player and everything the other reviewers have said about it is true. I used to have a generic Audiovox that had horrible battery life and broke down after a year. This one only cost 10 bucks more ($45 at Costco) and EVERYTHING about it beats my old CD player. 4 Times the... Read full review »

Panasonic SL-SX280 Portable CD Player (Silver and Blue)
The Panasonic SL-SX280 portable CD player has been designed to virtually eliminate skipping under normal listening conditions. It has a thin, lightweight traverse mechanism to minimize the influence of outside vibrations and a floating rubber construction to help absorb vibrations. Panasonic's Digital Servo system assures precise focus servo and tracking servo operation for even more resistance to vibrations. However, if a shock does occur, the 40-second backup memory will kick in, and your music will continue to play as if nothing happened. This gives you a near-perfect, skip-free listening environment. With just two AA batteries (not included), the SL-SX280 will give you up to 35 hours of playback time. This feature is not only economical, but also , since it reduces battery consumption. Alternatively, you may power the player using an optional 4.5V AC/DC adapter. Other conveniences include a hold switch (which negates state changes during transport or listening), playback of recordable CD-R and CD-RW discs, programming options, random play, repeat play (one track or an entire disc), and XBS (Extra Bass System) to give your music an added bass boost. And, thanks to the player's heat-resistant polycarbonate body, you can use it outdoors with only minimal fear of damage. What's in the Box CD Player, stereo headphones, and a user's manual
